About Us
We are a dedicated team in to blogging for this specific blog, because we love the GU League and we love the community GU League has created.
I am depchet (Snake12534) and I had been a GU League player since January of 2012. I played BZFlag much more longer before this; typically playing daily in Planet Mofo FFA. So I'll make a rough estimate and say I started playing BZFlag around the mid-year of 2010. It took me two years to found out that there was a wonderful league in GU League since 2005. Planet Mofo FFA was a very popular map and will rarely, rarely have no players on it. One day, it did. I decided to check out some of the other active servers, and a map that caught my eye was an "Offiical GU League Server" I tried to spawn / talk and it didn't work since you needed to register for an account through bzflag forums and you need to ask the admins from GU to spawn at their servers. I decided to give up and play BZFlag another day. After a while, Planet Mofo was off again for a day due to changes, and I saw "HiX FFA" as first map. I decided to go there and I loved it from the start. Even though I wasn't used to the "No-Flags" change, it was still great. Then Pam came to me and said "Do you want to join the GU League?" After a long conversation and a lot of help from Pam, I was able to register for the GU League. Within the same week of my registration, I made a team named Reptiles with Pam. It started off very smooth and well. Of course, there were many ups and downs within the team, but it hit dead activity for some time. This was during the Spring of 2012 in where I took a few months break from BZFlag to play a different game. When I came back, I would like to give thanks to Slyther366 for helping me return Reptiles. He was a good mate and I and slyther did a lot of matches together. Slowly and gradually we returned Reptiles. In early 2013, Reptiles broke a lot of records, including activity, and ELO. The team just got better throughout 2013 as more players joined and Reptiles' average score were around 1400's. Khonkhortisan & Alezakos are also some early members in Reptiles. Since the start of 2014, Reptiles is now an inactive team. But anyways, this is just me (Snake12534) and my personal experience with the league.
I (unclelightning) have been playing bzflag since 2007, but just registered on the forums a few years ago. I met snake at the end of his break from bzflag, as I was given the group to lead. When he returned we pushed the group and we have worked together on maps and blogs after.
